Doctor’s Operating Room $150/night
On December 15th 1910, Doctor John A. Gibbon’s ran his 1st advertisement in the local newspaper, the Mitchell Commercial, stating this was his operating room. Many visitors have reported feelings of being watched/followed in here. While this room is the most requested (as it’s on the 1st floor, and has a private bathroom), it’s the most creepy after dark.
Visitors have also often reported smells of antiseptic/alcohol. Depending on which side of the bed you sleep on, a number of visitors feel better after sleeping in this room as if the Doctor has cured their ailments, while others report the opposite sleeping on the ‘other’ side of the bed.
Other reports of activity in this room are growling sounds, snarls, and sighting of a humanoid creature [dubbed “big black”] have been reported in this room. One visitor was grabbed on the back of the neck by “big black”, 3 ‘fingers’ and 1 ‘thumb’. Pillows fly off the beds, Candles launch from nightstand.
Investigators have recorded disturbing EVPs, from just inside the bathroom door, of women pleading for help/rescue.

Doctor’s Examinition Room $150/night
On December 15th 1910, Doctor John A. Gibbon’s ran his 1st advertisement in the local newspaper, the Mitchell Commercial, stating this was his examination room. This room is much lightly in ‘feeling’ than the operating room. Guests have often seen large black masses drift through this room (many photos over last 2 years), not to mention this is where Big Black often lurks which is why we recommend no women go into this (or the O.R.) alone. Even in groups of 3-4, women often report being... violated/approached by.... (Honestly, we don’t really know whom is conducting these acts, but we suspect Big Black or Dr. John).
This room doesn’t have a bed yet, but the couch is quite comfy and will enable you to catch photos of Big Black (or the huge black masses).

Jessie’s Chamber $100/night
This is the master bedroom where Jessie Ruth Gibbons died after a bout with double-pneumonia. Visitors have reported being awaken hearing heavy/labored breathing, some stating they awoke but unable to move/breathe, as if some one/thing were pressing on their chest.
Sarah Elizabeth [S.E.], a 10-month old baby is also believed to have died in this room; cause unknown, but one can often hear baby cries in this room, and at times, reports of baby powder can be detected throughout the house.
This room has a closet (off-camera to left) which can repeatedly wake up visitors by strong sudden jiggling of the doorknob, by an unseen presence. The jiggling will stop, then a moment later the door opens. It is suspected that this is the pranks of Gary Tolliver. a special-needs boy that died in the house in 1974.
Movie Buffs: Visitors often ask for this room/bed by name as “the vampire bed” as this bed is an actual prop from the movie “Interview with a Vampire”.

Rachael’s Room $100/night
Although no documentation has been discovered to confirm this story, rumors persist that Dr John and Jessie Gibbons adopted Rachael when her Mother died in the doctor’s operating room after a carriage accident. In late 1912, near Christmas, Rachael was caught in a fire in the ground floor front parlor room. After which, she languished in this room for 2 days before dying. Sadly, visitors can often still hear her screams/cries of agony.
Visitors have often reported hearing laughter of children, as well as being awakened by someone bouncing/jumping on the bed, tugging/stroking of their hair, as well as seeing a child standing beside the bed in the early morning. Apparitions have frequently been sighted in this room.
The bed in this room is quite unarguably the most comfortable in the house, I wish my personal bed was this comfy.

Attic Loft $75/night
Although the floor is not finished yet. The most daring individual might want to try sleeping a full night in this room and honestly brag about no nightmares. the previous owner was only able to sleep up here 4 nights before the nightmares kept him from more. 2 psychics have stated this area is the heart of the house, that there’s a strong sense of death/rebirth here, and supposedly a vortex in the far right corner, where all entities enter/exit the house through this vortex. Seriously..... This nightmares comment is no joke [in fact, I shouldn’t refer to some of the experiences in this room as ‘nightmares’], I frequently have lucid dreams, but upon telling of some of their dreams, others have described as horrible nightmares. I have also been awakened twice by something trying to get in, strongly jiggling the doorknob. (editor’s note: yeah, we know ghosts don’t need to use doors, but people do, and you can’t run away very easily when you’re only way out is through that door). :-P
NOTE: The flooring is not finished. There is no air/heater in this room, no bathroom, yet, on this 3rd floor, but there is a bed.

This room is only recommended for truly hardcore enthusiasts, as 2 flights of stairs to the front door is a long distance to run when you get scared $#!tless. New waiver forthcoming to be required for guests that intend to sleep in here) Strong recommendation: Do NOT be caught sleeping in this room after ~6:30am, Bad things happen! DO NOT TAKE THIS WARNING LIGHTLY!! (remember, this is a REAL haunted house!)

Servant’s Quarter$??/night
Taking quotes from most guests, “This room is SPOOKY!”
The floor is off-balance, 2 windows are VERY FRAGILE (STAY AWAY), and well, you’ll just get an eerie feeling in here, day or night.
There is a back stairway to the kitchen (perfect for those late night/early morning munchies), but numerous spooky things keep even the current owner from wanting to spend time in this room.
An apparition has been frequently seen in this room. This apparition is believed to be that of Rachael Gibbons, adopted daughter of Doctor John and Jessie Gibbons.
NOTE: There are lights, but NO BED, and BAD INSULATION from outside elements (heat/cold) in this room (but you will not be rained on) :-). This room is not explicitly offered for overnight sleeping, but paying guests are welcome to crash here if they like (please bring sleeping bags or cots/air mattress, etc...). The main door to this room has a habit of slamming shut -HARD... do not have your fingers in the doorjamb.

|
This room is only recommended for the rough ghost hunters willing to tough it out in an extreme location just for a chance at seeing the rare, and elusive, “spooky apparition”. The one good thing about this room is there are 2 restrooms nearby, AND two exits to this room, ensuring you’ll always have an exit when confronted by big, bad, or spooky-ghost.
P.S. Guest what?! The faux-bricks are GONE, YAY!

Front Parlor$??/night
This is the main ‘sittng’ room. In ‘old’ Whispers Estate, guests could sit down here, call out to individual ghost/entities/spirits and get audible responses with little effort. However, since nobody currently lives in the house on a daily basis (the current owner has tried a couple times and after 4-5 nights in the house they’re getting no rest due to all the activity), activity has decreased. Nowadays, though there are still times that everyone in this room (shooting the bull, having a drink, whatever) can hear, SUPER CLEAR, childrens’ footsteps run up and down the hall, or their giggles, then a doorslam! Or... perhaps, the doctor will come forth and funk-up the place with his nasty cologne, or worse, dirty medical towels/bandages.

Dining Room$??/night
A large dining room, with a huge table. This room usually gets used by paranormal groups as their command center; resulting in most of the paranormal activity in this room as being missed/ignored.
Throughout the day/night, guests have reported seeing a large dark/black mass (sometimes looks like a cloud, other times looks like a tall humanoid, which we suspect to be Big Black or Dr John A Gibbons) walking into/through this room form the Doctor’s examination room. From those reports, though, we have not been able to determine where the dark mass goes; We suspect one of the following (but can confirm none); 1) goes into the front foyer, into the little phone nook underneath the stairs, and/or continuing through the wall to the outside, or up the stairs to the 2nd floor.)
During flashlight tours alone, many guests have witnessed childrens footsteps running up/down the 2nd floor hallway (which is right over this room!)
Early mornings, guests in the Doctor’s ER/OR have often reported being awoken to the sound of dishes/silverware clanging/knocking within this room.

Kitchen$??/night
Large and spacious, we originally thought this room to be ‘free’ of paranormal activity, but recently guests have witnessed seeing a shadow person peeking out of the back bathroom (through the door on the left there).
To the left of the photo, just as you enter the kitchen from the dining room), there is another doorway which has backstairs leading to the servant’s quarters.
Guests have often experienced hearing little footsteps (as if those from a child) run up/down the stairs and on bare wood (as if on 2nd floor in the servant’s quarter) from this room..

Nursery
Well, to answer your question... We don’t know for sure this was a nursery, it’s just the name we gave it. We have heard paranormal baby crying within the house, and figured this might be the room for a nursery. (Although, we keep pointing to that one corner in Jessie’s room, so who knows, right?)
This room seems to be the gateway to hell for this house, or gateway to the heart of the house. Until just a feww months ago, we didn’t have any reports of paranormal activity within this room, but since then, a number of guests have reported a lot of activity from this area, so much in a little period of time that we included this room on the list of hot times/spots list (see guest reference sheets).
Think ghost can’t hurt us? Think again; living persons’ blood has been recently spilled in this house, in this room. If you’re observant, you may even spot some in here. Kudos to you if you can explain how it got to its location (we think it was tracked paranormally). (Where is it? Don’t ask, we’ll only tell you during a tour of the house)

Dr John’s Bathroom
This bathroom is connected to the Dr’s operating room. We’re not quite sure of this room’s use back in the early 1900’s; Maybe it was a restroom (doubtful), or a clean room (doubtful), or storage (likely), or lock-up (for medicine, back then most doctors were also pharmacists).
Between ~1960-1985, this was a mix kitchenette and bathroom, converted to just a bathroom

Mr. H’s Bathroom
The story for this bathroom takes place sometime between 1957-1971. A Mr. J Hendelsen (or Hendersen) was taking a bath in the cast-iron clawfoot tub you see in this photo. When he got into/out of the bath, he slipped, fell, and broke his neck. The story goes on to state the Mr. H lay there 3 days, in the summer, before his body was found.
We continue to find more and more details of weird/bad luck within this house. The true story of this bathroom is unknown, but we have had 2 guests within a relatively short timeframe state they know the gentlemen that passed away in here and he’s a distant relative to John ‘Cougar’ Mellencamp. During research for confirmation of this (or any related) story, we found the name of a Jerry Hendersen, which claims he stayed in this house in the late 1960s. We have since named the bathroom after this gentlemen.
